This authority intervenes within the framework of the regulation procedure in case of appeal against the decision of the Ethics Commission.
Submission
The appeal procedure is open to both parties appearing in front of the Ethics Commission, i.e. the company and the complainant.
In practice
The appeal must be submitted to the Secretariat by registered letter within 30 days of the Ethics Commission’s notification and specify the objections formulated against the decision.
The parties can put forward new facts or arguments to the Appeal Chamber. The time of instruction is, in theory, 30 days. After hearing both parties the Appeal Chamber returns its decision within 30 days with a 30 day extension in exceptional circumstances.
The Appeal Chamber can cancel, reduce or increase the sanction imposed by the Ethics Commission.
